Light Spun carries the reader on the poet’s journey toward xirself. At once a meditation on love - outward and inward - this book is a collection of poems over a three year period, wherein the poet details xir experiences with love, mental health, and Black American spirituality.

About the author:

Kwame Sound Daniels is an artist based out of Parkville, MD. Xir first book, Light Spun, is out with Perennial Press in 2022.  Xe are the recipient of the 2021 We’re Still Here Suffering the Silence mini-grant, xir first chapbook found on sufferingthesilence.com/kwamedaniels.  Xe are an Anaphora Arts Residency Fellow and are an MFA candidate for Vermont College of Fine Arts. Kwame learns plant medicine, paints, and pickles vegetables in xir spare time.
